You can play anywhere you want…as long as you stay in the galaxy.’
The galaxy is Ella’s playground. Every day of the week you’ll find her with her little brother, Alex. They’ll be playing hide-and-seek on Jupiter’s moons, building a fort on Neptune, racing their Moon Scooters around Saturn’s ring, bouncing off Earth’s atmosphere.Interstellar Ella is set in a future where the Earth has become an eco-topia, green and peaceful, and space technology extends this beyond the atmosphere. Orbiting Earth are spaceships and satellites that have an almost organic feel – there to protect, enhance and benefit the Earth.
Ella’s family live on Earth in the countryside. Mum and Dad work from home – Mum (the scientist), in her high-tech lab, studies ways to travel to new galaxies; Dad, in his shed, lovingly restores ‘vintage spacecraft’ (Dad is a futuristic version of a steam-enthusiast).
Space is Ella’s playground. Interstellar Ella’s space is luminous and colourful, shimmering with glowing clouds of iridescent star-leftovers, electromagnetic breezes, shining particles popping in and out of existence. It is a fun, bright environment where Ella and her friends are having the time of their lives.
